MECHA CHESS

MechaChess is a personal passion project. I design, printed, painted, and shot this chess set over the course of a year. My goal was to design pieces that would captivate and draw in new players to the game of chess, and intuitively convey each piece's role. I designed each robot to match the role and iconography and capablites of the corresponding piece, meaning that not only is each piece distinct and easy to recognize, but the design helps players to remember the pieces' unique skillset, strengths and weaknesses. I printed two complete sets and painted the pieces to create the final video. Playing with friends is a joy, as I get to show off my designs and miniature painting without having to repeatedly answer "which piece is which again?"
