DVA Mech Statue

I was a part of the team at Onyx Forge Studio that created this life size DVA mecha statue for the Porsche x Overwatch collaboration. I was responsible for translating the details from the game assets and concept art to the final digital sculpture, as well as preparing the torso of model for print: splitting the pieces to fit the printer and fit around the armature, adding keys to fit parts together, separating out transparent parts and creating cavities to enable the fabrication team to create all the awesome lighting seen in the final statue. It was a complex puzzle to make everything fit and work together, but a ton of fun working together with Steve Wang, Julie Shah, Jason Wang and Cleve Gunderman to get it all done!

We had to split the main body section into 16 pieces to fit them in the print volume and so they could be assembled around the armature.

The stylized quilted leather on these joysticks was esp. fun to do.

So cool to see the BTS work in the shop. The Onyx Forge team killed it again!
